Farm Shed Insulation
Chicken farm agricultural case study
Introduction: CPI Foam Ltd. provides spray foam insulation products and training to relevant contractors in the construction industry in Ireland.
The main product they distribute is Ezero spray foam which has a range of benefits as well as practical advantages over other insulation types. The company has recently received NSAI certification, which is the highest accolade possible for open cell spray foam by the NSAI agreement board in Ireland
The product E: ZERO/E: 500 had to undertake stringent tests under Irish conditions to establish that it was suitable for its intended use as "a proper material" to comply with the latest 2010 building regulations. In doing so E: ZERO/E: 500 is the only spray foam currently certified to this set of Building Regulations. This has reinforced the company's belief in the product and since achieving the certification the product demand has been increasing across a range of interesting markets.
The Solution: After consulting with engineers and their insurance company on how best to insulate and make airtight the existing galvanised sheeting to a very high standard the best possible solution was to apply a Class 1 BS (part 7) Fire rated spray foam closed cell insulation.
The spray foam is a rigid foam and was supplied by WWW.CPIFOAM.IE TSW-38-00 with a density of 38kg/m³.
This company is run by Mr Edward Kenny who has been applying spray foam insulation in Wicklow and surrounding areas since 2006, so his experience was required to satisfy all parties which he did in a seamless and clean manner.
